NoCategories is created by Dylan R. Kinnett: heckler, hierophant, and writer. A native of Shepherdstown, West Virginia, he has recently received a Bachelor’s Degree in Writing/Communication from Maryville College. Dylan is currently employed with a variety of odd-jobs.

In addition to updating NoCategories almost daily, Dylan is the webmaster of a variety of websites including: Sinister Studio, L’Espace Motorcoah, Inc., and The Manna Machine Studio Gallery, which showcases paintings by his father, Dr. Douglas Kinnett.

Interests.

Dylan is also a radio enthusiast. With three radio shows behind his belt, he became the Production Manager for WZUP, the Maryville College radio station. He studied for a year in Kyoto, Japan and developed an interest in Eastern thought, which led to a philosophy minor in college.

His political sentiments are not easily classed as Democrat, Libertarian, Anarchist, or Communist, but the other labels certainly do not apply. He generally favors a great deal of liberty and freedom of choicein the matters of life, and wants The Power to help the disadvantaged in the name of fairness, but also wants The Power itself to be disadvantaged, also in the name of fairness. He values individual responsibility, and embraces economic and social diversity.

A Writer, eh?

Dylan began writing when he was ten years old, and still tries to write something every day. He created his own publication Apocalypse Playground in 1995, when he was sixteen years old. The zine gained enough readership that he could quit the proverbial day job, even though it was only part-time.

Since that time, he has published a variety of poems, short stories, and newspaper columns; written a one-act play, and in 2000 he was the second-place recipient of the Millenium Commerative Award for Excellence in Writing at Maryville College. In 2002 and 2003, he edited Impressions, a literary magazine.

Dylan’s current writing project is a revision of To Win, Simply Play, a non-linear novella written in hypertext. It was originally written to fulfillthe senior thesis requirement at Maryville College, the research for which included a summer internship at Eastgate Systems.
