    Maybe you’re right. Maybe this poem doesn’t go anywhere.

    I rescued it, along with some of the other poems I’ve recently posted, from the old notebooks I mentioned a while ago. I’m still going through them, and with a poetry reading coming up later this month, I needed ideas.

    This couplet was salvaged from a poem that was worse than maudlin.

    It is a great poem. The fact that it doesnt “go anywhere” emphasizes the actual meaning. Concise and effective.
