it has a very understated, industrial quality. i like it.
is that whole room yours or is that the ‘living room’ that is surely destined to become another wall tagged by the visiting masses?
and i dig the windows.
thought of you this weekend actually–okanamiaki. im sure i spelled it wrong, but that is what i thought of. weird, huh?
tell me how the book is? done? almost done? nowhere near done, but needs to be?
love ya.

It is exactly that understated, industrial quality that I fell in love with the moment I saw this apartment and decided that I must have it, through folly, favor or foul, so I did.
The whole room is my room. I live in a one-room apartment now, alone. Any visiting masses will be my friends, whom I trust not to spoil the joint.
Speaking of japanese words, and an “understated quality”: wabi-sabi comes to mind just now. i heart wabi-sabi. What is it? Here’s an explanation of wabi-sabi in pictures and a definition of wabi-sabi in words.
(book? almost there. stay tuned)
Dylan, that’s amazing!! So much potential, you can do whatever you want with it!! And it’s HUGE! I’m sure you’re absolutely loving it. I imagine you’ll probably need time to decide exactly what you do or don’t want to do with the space, no? It’s like your own giant sheet of drawing paper, ready to allow you to express yourself. I sincerely want to visit - particularly before I end up doing some long-term Japanese practice of my own.
Yes, I’m very slow to make decisions about what to do with a space.I’m starting to think that I put my bed where my desk should have been…
