Use your archives

I hope that the new archive part of Codex will be a useful aid to my readers.

I found on Writing the Living Web via Mark Bernstein, and I only mention it today because of a coincidence. According to Google, that document about writing is one of the “similar apges” to my own home page. I discovered that yesterday, then, today I find that Mark has written about the document today. I took it as a sign. I decided to re-read the article.

Particularly, I noticed something about the usefulness of an archive, for readers and writers alike.

Topical summaries and overviews are much more helpful to new readers and to regulars alike, and if they require a modest additional effort every day, that effort pays dividends that grow as your archives expand.

and so, I built a nice way to get an overview of my writing here, with help from the wordpress forum.

Now, if I could only as easily address the other major points in the article…
