I heard a similar critique of that Michael Moore movie -- the one about the automotive plant that shut down. Moore's thesis was, true to form, that the evil corperation simply didn't care about its people and so it shut down, depriving them of their livlihoods. Wouldn't it make more sense to believe that the corperation, evil or otherwise, shut down because it wasn't making money? The ability to profit is an unfortunate prequisite to a company's ability to "care" for its people. I love societal naysaying, but I don't love that "aha". Its cheap thinking.
