		<description>A quick look at the comments on that article shows, people have found many ways to get around the fact that the comments forms didn't allow them to write emphasis. Some users chose to use ALL CAPS, which some people read as akin to yelling. Others used _underscores_ to indicate an underline, or an italics. Still others knew enough HTML to use code &lt;code&gt;&lt;em&gt;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/code&gt; to emphasize.

For these people, word choice alone was not enough to indicate emphasis... and then there's the matter of emphasis choice. These are not exactly formatting choices, although, of course, the outcome of the choices is formatted.</description>
