Art Criticism Residency

I was one of the writers participating in the 23rd Annual Critics’ Residency program at the Maryland Art Place. Along the way, I saw some great art, met some interesting people and I’ve grown as a writer. I worked with critic Vincent Katz to write about artworks by Dottie Campbell, Bonnie Kotula, Kim Manfredi and Lynn Rybicki.

The program served as a pilot program for both the National Endowment for the Arts and the Mid-Atlantic Arts Foundation. Unique in its premise, the program is a collaborative effort that works to bring a renowned critic to Baltimore each year to mentor writers while showcasing the talent of area artists.
